The Sunday evening Reception of the ELFA Annual Convention at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, here in San Diego, had a great atmosphere, with plenty of exhibitors, great food, and an expectant buzz in the air. In addition to UK representatives from CHP, Cassiopae and White Clarke Group, there were a goodly number of delegates from Europe circulating in the throng. There was Jean-Marc Mignerey (pictured below), of SGEF, despite the fact that a day earlier his plane had been diverted to Los Angeles because of fog at San Diego airport, and he’d had to complete the last part of his journey by coach. Other familiar faces included Rudiger von Folkersamb (pictured right), Alan Leesmith, Tanguy van de Werve, even a surprise visit from Kirill Tsarev, representing Russia’s leasing association. 

The programme for Monday morning is kicking off with a Service Provider Business Council Breakfast Session, starting at 7 a.m. Service providers put a lot of good things into the leasing industry, but do not always feel they get the recognition they deserve in return, and one of the topics on the agenda may be to find ways to get more attention to their needs from leasing associations.
