9th Jul 2017. Aldermore Business Finance - HeadWay
With the new football season well underway, Aldermore Bank hosted its annual charity football tournament to raise money for Headway, an organisation that aims to help individuals who have had brain injuries since birth.
Now in its third year, the event is held in memory of Adam Massen, a member of Aldermore’s asset finance team who sadly died from a brain injury in 2014.
The five-a-side event took place on 7th September at St George’s Park in Burton–on-Trent, Staffordshire, the Football Association’s National Football Centre and home of England’s national teams. Co-hosting the event was ex-professional footballer, Ray Parlour, who made over 300 appearances for Arsenal and capped ten times for England during a glittering 20 year career.
This year’s tournament, the biggest yet, saw a record 20 teams sign up, including 13 broker teams and a number of other financial services providers.
The main focus away from the pitch was to raise £10,000 for Headway but this year’s target was smashed into the top corner with the total reaching over £12,000.
The teams battled it out for the Adam Massen cup, and the eventual winners were the talented players from LDF Operations Limited who beat Kennet Leasing in the final by a score of 1 - 0.
