13th Sep 2019. Siemens UK - British Heart Foundation
Towards the end of 2018, Siemens UK Executive Board Management member Dietmar Harteveld had some truly devastating news. His son and fellow Siemens employee, Toby Harteveld, sadly passed away from heart failure.
Dietmar received a great amount of support from colleagues and people who knew Toby, but he wanted to do something more - both in memory of Toby, and for Siemens. And so along with members of the IT and GBS UK Management Team, they decided to host the Big Summer Cycle 2019 and raise money for charity - to help people just like Toby.
Starting on September 4th, more than sixty riders cycled 800 miles from Poole to Manchester in ten stages, visiting a number of Siemens sites along the way. In doing so, they raised more than £18,000 to be shared between the British Heart Foundation and MIND.
