Up to £75,000 basic excellent bonus and benfits
Location: UK, Manchester (Hybrid), with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home.

New Leaf Search is partnering with an established UK technology finance organisation in its search for a Senior Credit Underwriter.

This is a senior underwriting opportunity for an experienced credit professional, taking responsibility for assessing and underwriting commercial credit proposals while supporting effective, commercially balanced lending decisions.

You will work closely with key internal stakeholders, applying sound credit judgement and detailed financial analysis to assess risk and support high-quality decision making.

Key Accountabilities

• Assess and underwrite commercial credit proposals.
• Analyse financial information to determine creditworthiness and identify key risks.
• Make well-reasoned credit decisions within agreed authority levels and risk appetite.
• Prepare clear and concise credit recommendations for transactions requiring higher approval.
• Review transaction structures and supporting information to ensure appropriate risk assessment.
• Identify potential credit risks and recommend suitable mitigants where appropriate.
• Work closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to progress transactions effectively.
• Ensure underwriting decisions comply with relevant credit policies and procedures.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency and quality across credit assessments.
• Provide senior-level credit expertise and support to colleagues and wider stakeholders.

Person Specification

• Strong commercial credit underwriting experience within Financial Services.
• Proven experience analysing company financial information and assessing credit risk.
• Sound commercial judgement with the ability to balance risk and business considerations.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to articulate and document credit decisions clearly and confidently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to credit assessment.

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services, particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing. Relevant IN-COUNTRY experience is required; applications without it will not be considered.
