Nathan MollettUnited Trust Bank (“UTB”) Asset Finance has recorded its strongest ever lending performance over the first seven months of 2026, delivering 53pct growth in lending volumes compared to the same period of last year. UTB has seen a string of four record-setting ‘best ever’ months as demand from brokers for Stance Asset Finance continues to accelerate.

Growth has been driven by the continued success of UTB's established asset finance business alongside the rapid expansion of Stance Asset Finance, the Bank's new proposition which has quickly established itself as an attractive alternative for brokers seeking competitive SME funding solutions.

Despite record application volumes, UTB has maintained the high service standards brokers have come to expect, achieving its highest ever monthly lending total in July whilst continuing to deliver over 90pct same day credit approval and an average of 24-hour payouts, even at month end.

Performance highlights include 53pct growth in lending volumes year on year to the end of July, with the highest monthly lending on record achieved in July 2026.

Designed to complement UTB's existing proposition, Stance Asset Finance supports underserved SME customers across England, Wales and Scotland and gives brokers another competitive option for SME funding while retaining the fast decisions, personal relationships and responsive service that have become hallmarks of the wider UTB Asset Finance business. Stance Asset Finance appeals to brokers representing customers in a broad range of circumstances.

Nathan Mollett, Managing Director – Asset Finance at United Trust Bank (pictured above), said, ”The response to Stance has been fantastic. Brokers have been looking for another strong, competitive option in the market and demand has grown steadily as more people experience what the team can deliver. Stance complements our established UTB Asset Finance business perfectly, allowing us to support more brokers, more customers and a broader range of funding requirements. With the full launch later this year, we're excited about the next stage of the journey."

John Devlin, Associate Director of Allied Finance (UK) Limited said, “We’ve worked with UTB and its traditional AF offering of Tier 1 to Tier 2 funding for years and we welcome UTB's move into the tier 3 sector with Stance. Despite some initial teething problems, to be expected with a new proposition, we are now writing some good levels of business, and I estimate that we have increased our new business with UTB and Stance combined by some 25pct or more year to date. It could be said we are doing the dance with Stance!”
